Overview 
Camponotus postcornutus is ground nesting with a simple entrance hole leading into the nest. It is most common in south-western Western Australia and is generally encountered in relatively dry areas such as mallee.

Taxonomy
While this species shows minimal morphological variation, specimens from South Australia tend to be lighter in colour than those from Western Australia.
