Lestoniidae

Overview

Little is known of the biology of these bugs. They are known from the growing tips of Callitris (Cupressaceae) where they may feed upon the juices of the plant.

Distribution

This family is endemic to Australia. Only 2 species are known. Lestonia haustorifera is found throughout the Murray Darling basin and in parts of Western Australia. Lestonia grossi has been collected on the coast of New South Wales and Queensland.
